Turn the resolutions into action

Share & Learn

I used to spend the last weeks of any year trying to resolve on what I should do the following year. In short, creating resolutions. I also spent the first weeks of the New Year telling whoever cared to listen what I had resolved to do in the new year and what not.
My birthday is just 11 days into January so for me a new year literally means I have grown. I know it does for anyone else but it feels different for me because my birthday is just so close anyway.
But over the years, I have realized that the more I resolved to do certain things, the further I drifted away.
2009 is kind of special. For starters I have resolved not to make any resolutions but be more action oriented. The word for me this year is ACTION!
I have no set goals because the man upstairs knows better what he wants me to do. 2009 for me is to act on everything I want to be and do.
I will put more energy in blogging so you will see more posts here. I learnt recently that it is good for both organizations and individuals to leave a digital trail. Everyone needs to be traced.
Also we shall work on getting the Ministry of Health here involved more in I’m Pregnant magazine.
At ICON Women and Young People’s Leadership Academy, I will be making a lot of noise about the good work they do. That’s what I do as Communication and Advocacy Officer. That already sounds like a list of resolutions. No! They are my action points. Sound similar?
